                                    Public Transport in Spain

Here for you to read, is information to ensure you are using a valid legal taxi company.

       - Most taxis in Spain are easy to recognize, they have green lights on their roofs, and clear stickers saying taxi. On the front and      rear of the car will have a badge or stickers saying S.P. on it. This means Licensed to carry public as paying passengers. on the 2 z    front doors will have the license number and the area from where the taxi is based.
         - Any other small bus companys or private hire cars must have S.P. badge on the front and rear of the car.
         - The car/driver must also have what is called a tarjeta de transporte. this is the legal document supplied by the government a
"transport card" or permission to carry passengers.
         - If you travel in ANY other form of transport which has been advertized and is charging you like a taxi, then you are paying an     illegal "pirate" taxi. Please Be Warned if you have any problem or unfortunate enought to be involved in a accident their regular       drivers insurance Does Not cover you. So you would be left literatly without a leg to stand on.

The following is an article from the costa blanca newspaper "The Leader" which states the laws and problems illegal taxis are creating on the costa blanca.
